Ironleaf Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 5, 2026
Ironleaf is made by Ironframe Studio. We built it to keep your private things private, and this policy explains how.
The short version: your notes, vault and recordings stay on your device. We don’t have servers that receive them, we don’t require an account, and we don’t use ads, analytics or tracking.
What the app stores, and where
- Notes, checklists, reminders and vault items are stored only on your device, in an encrypted database.
- Vault contents (notes, photos, videos and files) are encrypted on your device. Their keys are protected by your PIN and your device’s secure storage.
- Break-in alert photos: if you turn on break-in alerts and someone enters a wrong code, the app takes a photo with the front camera. The photo is encrypted so that it can only be opened inside your vault. It’s never uploaded or sent anywhere.
- Voice notes are recorded and stored on your device. Speech-to-text runs on your device.
On Android, the app’s data is excluded from system backups. If you delete the app or lose your device, your data can’t be recovered by us.
Permissions the app asks for
| Permission | Why | When it’s used |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Take photos for notes, scan documents, and take break-in alert photos | Only when you use those features, or when a wrong code is entered with break-in alerts on |
| Microphone | Record voice notes | Only while you’re recording |
| Speech recognition | Turn voice notes into text on your device | Only when you transcribe a note |
| Photos / media library | Import photos and videos, remove originals if you choose, and save items back | Only when you pick or save items |
| Face ID / biometrics | Unlock protected content | Each time you unlock |
| Notifications | Show your reminders | At the times you set |
| Motion sensors | Panic switch: close the vault when the phone is turned face-down or shaken | Only while the vault is open, if the feature is on |
You can turn off any permission in your device settings. The features that need it will stop working.
